Synopsis

The Secrets Inside is set in HMS prison, Perth, Central Scotland. Darren, a successful 23 year old businessman has been wrongly accused and sentenced to jail for paedophilia. The story follows his journey in one of Scotland's largest jails as Darren struggles to deal in the our overcrowded prison system. Darren battles to retain his feeling of self worth in an environment where he feels totally misplaced and uncomfortable.

The story follows the intricate and very different relationships that develop between Darren and his psychologist, Megan, and his fellow inmate Brian, 25 - convicted of petty theft. As the story progresses, we see the effect that both persons have on Darren as both fight their own battles to get into his head.

In an institute where a person can enjoy very few freedoms or privacy - Darren has managed to keep secret the one piece of information that may keep his stay in HMS Perth reasonably trouble - free. But as the plot thickens, it becomes obvious to Darren that the one secret he has managed to keep to himself could soon bubble to the surface.
