ANNOUNCEMENT: Tash Joins the Team!

We are delighted to welcome Natasha Cox to the team this week!

Natasha Cox is our new Creative and Learning Manager

Natasha, who goes by the name Tash, is professionally trained in musical theatre. She has performed in the West End and regional theatres, and has toured the UK with shows such as: This is Elvis, The Wiz, Barnum and various pantomimes. She received a Lawrence Oliver award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role In A Musical for Jerry Springer the Opera.

Over the past 17 years, Tash’s work has crossed over several areas in the arts. She is currently a Matt Mattox jazz dance teacher for Creative Director, Rhimes Lecointe of Artist Hub and Boadicea Dance company. She has been choreographer and assistant director for Susie McKenna, Hackney Empire (Fun Song Factory), Dawn Reid, Theatre Royal Stratford East (Sleeping Beauty) and Choreographer and teacher for Kenrick Sandy of Boy Blue Entertainment (from 2001-03).

Whilst on a six month UK Tour, Tash decided to embark on a part time degree course. Six years later she graduated, gaining a BSc Honours Degree in Social Sciences. During the later part of her studies she worked as a Communications Officer for a Housing Association where she led on all of their events including their annual staff conference of over 500 delegates. She then moved on to become a UK Tour Coordinator for a charity called Watoto where the performers were orphan children from Uganda.

Now working part time for Selladoor, Tash is the Creative and Learning Manager where she will be leading on the development of the outreach department. She will be working closely with theatres and other creative groups to ensure Selladoor continue to engage with young people and those with disabilities. She is currently working on Of Mice and Men and Peter Pan.

Tash is also the Creative Director for her own company, N.C Productions, where she uses the arts to tackle social issues faced by young people from Black and Minority Ethnic Backgrounds, and women from all walks of life. Her productions include Breaking the Glass Ceiling, Inspire 2 Motiv8 and Connections.
