Originally produced by Sell A Door Theatre Company at Greenwich Theatre in April 2013.
Written by Henrik Ibsen and Adapted from William Archer’s Translation by Alfred Enoch
"It is not only what we have inherited from our feather and mother that 'haunts' us. It is all sorts of dead ideas, and lifeless old beleifs. They have no vitality, but they cling to us all the sam, and somehow we cannot shake them off."
Helen Alving is trapped in a world where 'dead ideas' rule outright, and the sordid secrest of her family's past threaten scandal. She desperately tries to conceal her late husband's philandering by building an orphanage in his name. But with the long awaited return of her son Oswald, Helen's ghosts walk again, and all hopes of saving him from his father's legacy appear lost.
