Dean McDermott Musical Director Dean gained a BA (Hons) in music and has since worked as a freelance musician/musical director for hit shows around the UK.As a freelance pianist, keyboard player, arranger and vocal coach his career has certainly been diverse, ranging from opera to jazz. He has worked as a répétiteur for the soloists of Opera North and has previously appeared as Musical Director for the famous Good Old Days at Leeds City Varieties and musical director for UK Productions. Dean held the position of in house Musical Director for Theatre Royal Wakefield and P&O Cruises that took him around the world.As Musical Director, his credits include: Avenue Q, A Chorus Line, High School Musical, West Side Story, Footloose, Boogie Nights, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hello Dolly!, I Write The Songs, At The Hop, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Jack and The Beanstalk, Dick Wittington and Sleeping Beauty.Other musician credits include: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Blood Brothers for Bill Kenwright No 1 UK Tours. Dean currently lectures in music and performing arts at a number of educational establishments across the UK, including Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts London, Leeds College of Music and Wakefield College.
